The snowflakes got much larger today. We had about 5 inches (13 cm) of snow l in 25 minutes, and then another two hour snowfall...tonight will be -4 (estimate) and very icy!

The School Carol Concert tonight was brilliant....the church was packed upstairs and down, the kids sang and played really well and the audience loved it.

Enormous icicles from the gutter to the ground......

We subsequently found that the gutter was blocked with fallen leaves.

....hence the amount and size of these.

We have some enormous icicles today, the water has dripped from the roof to the ground via this pretty bush and the whole thing looks like an "ice tree"....see next photo.

The Chelsea bun is a type of currant bun that was first created in the eighteenth century at the Bun House in Chelsea, London, an establishment favoured by royalty and demolished in 1839. The bun is made of a rich yeast dough flavoured with lemon peel, cinnamon or a sweet spice mixture. This was the most delicious we had ever eaten...bought at the local Farmers Market.

Spotted whilst out dog walkingtoday................why do people do this?

It is illegal to tree carve in the UK. A friend told me that they knew someone that was fined 10/- (50pence) back in the 1950's for defacing a tree, he carved his initials on it. Ten bob weas an awful lot of money then!
