The Walk

Hartley and I went on a long walk this morning....we have just got back!

He was "teased" by a squirrel who scuttled in front of him -  that was it......he was gone for 20 minutes!  Meanwhile, I took this photo.  Somebody really is in the "dog house" today!

Tulip

This was just one of a vase full of red tulips in the centre of my "Mother's Day" decorated dining table, adorned with candles and butterfly confetti.  Roast pork and all the trimmings cooked by Elliot and Milly - Mmmm delicious! Presents too......Thanks kids x

Mother's Day !

Looking through a bag of old photos my dad gave me...I loved this one of my mum in Switzerland in the 1950's

- rather appropriate for Mother's Day I thought!

Leaf skeletons

Whilst gardening this afternoon I came across a few of these leaf-skeltons.  I had an idea.  I placed an orange piece of paper on a light box and laid the leaf on top - abracadabra - this was the result!

I haven't processed the photos in any way.

Chrysanthemums

This variety of Chrysanthemum is called "Froggy"...they are very tiny, a sort of miniature version of the real thing.....(if you know what I mean ?) They still look very healthy, having stood in a vase on my dining room table for the past 13 days.

Dover

I had to go on a course today at Dover so I arrived early, with enough time to take a few shots - it was so so cold I didn't stay outside for long although the sun was shining!  Roll on the Summer.

Alia's birthday

Dawn bought baloons which lit up from the inside.....they really did "glow in the dark"........once they were blown up!!  Lovely meal, great company and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Saint Alia!!

Left today's photo to the last minute - searched for a subject at the Tilbury Band Hall after rehearsal and eventually decided on this row of glasses in the bar (sorry Andy H, I will post a photo of your "special glass" another time - promise!)

PUBLISHED !!

I didn't take this photograph today - in fact I took it in September last year.  It was found on my Picasa phography site by Myriad Publishing  who are based in Brighton .  They requested to use it in a book that was being written  by Tom Connolly about a family growing up in Kent .    I was absolutely delighted to give them the rights to publish my  photo and today , a few months later, two paperbacks arrived in the post and guess what.......my name is printed on tbe back cover.

FAMOUS AT LAST !!!   

The story evolves around a family living in a crumbling house in Kent, one of the characters being named "Great Aunt Mafi"....coincidentally my gran was called Mafeking (yes, that really was her first Christian name) and was known to friends and family as "Maff".....!

Speed

Whilst sitting at the university trying to take today's photo .......the City and the Cathedral...this double-decker bus came whizzing past.......this photo turned out better than the one I was trying to take...better luck next time.

Fajitas !!

Well....had a lovely surprise today.. Elliot texted me whilst at work saying he and Charlotte intend cooking us all dinner this evening  - I have to say, very tasty it was too.....Thanks !
Oh, nearly forgot...................they did the washing up too!

St David's Day

 

Woke up....no rain!!!!!

Hartley and I took advantage of the weather and went for a long walk along the beach in Whitstable.  The harbour was busy but colourful.  There were several tall containers full of "whelk shells" - I had to stand on tiptoe to photograph these, but like the way the sun was shining onto them.  May this weather continue!

......................I just wanted to add that today is a special day  - date wise ................
